Saturday June 19th I was invited out to cover an event that was hosted to benefit the Cleveland-Rutherford Kidney Association . The event was hosted by the Cleveland County Independent Bikers. They had a Poker Run, Bike Games, a horseshoe tournament and great food. There were some great looking motorcycles and lots of fun. They had an awesome band lined up for entertainment that evening. Swamp Da Wamp a country rock band based out of Charlotte, NC put on a great show, Even after a lightning storm interrupted the concert a third of the way through. Not to be outstaged by the storm they packed it up and moved it inside to perform a more personal show semi unplugged. I guess that is why they were asked for the second year in a row to perform on the famed Lynyrd Skynyrd Simple Man Cruise. I was allowed to go backstage and photograph at will. I think I had just as much fun working the event as some of the attendees had all day. You can view the photos that I took here, feel free to browse them.

I recently took on the task of photographing and building the new internet presence of “Kegtown Legacy”, a southern rock band that loves to jam. We met in Cliffside, NC on Tuesday the 25th at a top secret location to do our first set of promotional pics for the site and their upcoming album. I sat down and brainstormed with the band and we talked about getting permission to use this site for the album photo’s. Daniel knew the owner of the location and made contact with them and we started to scout the area for possible locations. We will release the name of the location once it is discussed with the property owner.
I tried to create a South Carolina reminiscent theme and a super hero theme with the indoor shots. Needless to say I feel we achieved what we were looking for. We took individual shots indoors as well. These shots will be used on the bio page of the new website.
I am working tirelessly to get the site live by June 4th. Kegtown Legacy is playing the “Breaking Southern Ground Tour” at Heritage park Amphitheater. You can visit their website at www.heritageparkamphitheater.com
If you are a fan of Kegtown Legacy watch for the new site launch and please sign up as a member of their site and sign up for RSS feeds of their blog and shows as well. We want you to be able to interact with the band on the new site. Tell your friends about it as well. The location of the new site will be www.kegtownlegacy.com

Come out of hiding! I am looking for any cars that are from the first half of the 20th century. One of my friends came across this 1949 Cadillac Sedanette in Inman, SC. I ventured over to photograph this piece of history today and was very lucky in what I found. You can view the set that I shot here.
Interesting fact about this car…It was a solution to a problem Cadillac had encountered after WWII. During the war Cadillac had advertised heavily that they were powering the M-5 and M-24 tanks. Cadillac enthusiast were trying to buy post war tanks for the engines so they could modify their L heads for more power. Cadillac released the overhead V-8 to discourage the modifications that were overloaded with technical problems more often than successful.
If you know of or run across a car rusting in the middle of a field or in someones backyard, please forward me a location and owner if you know them. I am interested in building a portfolio of these classic pieces of metal….
Click Here for a glimpse of this cars intended beauty.

I spent this past weekend attending and shooting one of the least traditional yet most fun weddings I have ever been a part of. Kim and Andy are great friends who Finally decided to “tie the knot”. Instead of having the traditional church bound ceremony they really put their own personalities into their celebration. I truly can say I had the most fun I have ever had as a photographer from start to finish there was never a dull moment.
Kim and I shot her bridal portraits in two separate states, and they involved splinters, a can of spray paint and Andy’s skateboard. I got to put a creative flare into it and really just shot most of them as I would if I were doing band photos. You can check those out here
…As for the actual wedding I loved the theatrics that were implemented and the length of the ceremony. I was thrown off guard and almost missed some of the most important shots. Kim and Andy really showed what was important to them and what they hold dearest to their hearts…Family and Friends. This wedding was focused on giving the family and friends something to remember and to let them know how much they are valued, by showing them a good time and sharing it with them. Check out the rehearsal and ceremony pics here
Kim and Andy thanks for letting my family take part in your day. We truly enjoyed it!

This page may look different for those of you that have actually been following it. For anyone new there are a few posts missing.
I learned the hard way that backing up your files is imperative. I back up files on a regular basis for other things but have never set this blog up to be backed up systematically. I was doing some routine maintenance on one of my testing sites and some how deleted or un-installed a file that apparently was connected to my database for this site. So I lost all the posts and updates that I had made to this site after going live with it. I fortunately had exported the database before switching the site from the test page and didn’t lose the main layout of the page. I have tried very hard to get this to look the way I wanted.
So I guess you live and learn. If I never made mistakes I would never be given the opportunity to learn. As long as I make a conscious effort to avoid the mistakes I have made in the past I might one day truly know everything…At least everything I want to know anyway.
